Eating produces joy? I suppose it depends on What you eat!
Has the Lord seemed near or far to you this past week? Have we become bogged down in the muddy waters of earthly sin and indifference to One who can clear the fog of "busyness" and brightly burn off despair with joy and faith? Yesterday, I read Jeremiah 15:16...check this out:
Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16 ESV)
Need to know the power of God in your life today? Eat the Word. Devour His truth. Relish His grace. Digest His ways. Walk in them.
Jeremiah 15 concludes:
Therefore thus says the LORD: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them. And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the LORD. I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.” (Jeremiah 15:19-21 ESV)
Fellow Christ-followers, let us battle indifference and anxiety by wielding the Sword of the Spirit this day. The Word of God pierces us, cleanses us, and propels us to engage the world (and our families) with the love and grace of God.
Onward Christian soldiers...for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the LORD!
For His glory and our joy in Christ,
