Missions

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20

Monument Hill Church is a mission-minded church.  We regularly reach out to our local community through a variety of local ministries. Our CarePortal ministry, led by Diane Bachman, regularly meets needs in our community and throughout Colorado Springs in the name of Christ.  God has graciously grown us spiritually and physically to where we are just not focusing on our own neighborhood (which is important). He has also opened our eyes and hearts to the great need to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a Missions Team that is meeting and praying about greater involvement in God's plan to reach the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Our Great Commission Team is praying about a partnership with churches in Wales.  Pastor Tom was providentially reunited with an old friend from seminary who lives in the capital city of Cardiff, Wales and is the primary coordinator of ministry partnerships with Welsh evangelical churches.

As David Mathis says in the new book, Finish the Mission, Global missions...

"...is about the worship of this spectacular Jesus.  The goal of missions is the worldwide worship of the God-man by his redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, and nation.   The outcome of missions is all peoples delighting to praise Jesus.  And the motivation for missions is the enjoyment that his people have in him.  Missions aims at, brings about, and is fueled by the worship of Jesus."  p. 14

The Great Commission is not optional.  Let's pray and give and GO that others may worship Jesus, instead of themselves.

We provide financial support for missionaries and their families through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.  We encourage members of our congregation to participate in short term mission trips, locally and internationally.  We also encourage our students to participate in mission opportunities as a group to share our lives and to spread the gospel. (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

We have supported local missions and international missions, including building new church facilities, VBS and eyeglasses ministry, as well as support to other churches.  Our members have served in Africa on a medical mission team, in South America, and throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia!

Summer 2019! We are planning a Mission Trip to partner with a church in La Luz, New Mexico in June of 2019! More details soon - this trip is open to students and adults. Stay tuned.

We support both Southern Baptist and other evangelical missions and ministries locally, in our state, and around the world.
